About Us

Welcome to the International Society for Heart Research (Indian section) member group. The mission of the ISHR is to promote the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in the cardiovascular sciences on a national and international basis. Membership is open to any individual (with MD or PhD or MD PhD) who is actively interested in any aspect of experimental or clinical research in the cardiovascular sciences.

We invite you to explore the various features our site has to offer. We created this online space to allow our members to collaborate on projects, share ideas and expertise – and, most important, connect with fellow members.

Formed in 1968, ISHR was initially known as the 'International Study Group for Research in Cardiac Metabolism, until 1976 when the current name was adopted. Over the years, membership has grown to include around 3,000 members from the Australasian, Chinese, European, Indian, Japanese, Latin American and North American sections. Today cardiovascular research invokes expertise from multiple disciplines and specialties.
